Description
Red had laughed when Xin'Qan had first told her about the odd request, so it had taken some convincing to get her on board. With her help, however, Xin'Qan had somehow managed to pull it off. She sat down in the grass and sighed as she gazed at the affront to nature that she and Red had created in the name of this..."Secret Santa" thing. Shaking her head in an attempt to clear her thoughts, she looked up at the sky, but she could still only think one thing--I really hope this isn't some kind of joke.
She wouldn't have to wait long though. According to the instructions she'd been given, the intended recipient would be here any--wait, what was that? She got to her feet and directed her attention to the road. Sure enough, a short, squat dwarf was drunkenly meandering toward her. She began walking toward him, ready to greet him and show him his gift.
"Um...hello there. ...Veit, right?"
The dwarf grunted in affirmation before looking down to lovingly fondle the flask he was carrying.
Xin'Qan breathed a sigh of relief. So it was him, after all. "Um, okay then...I'm...Lu Xin'Qan. I'm supposed to be your Secret Santa...you, um, asked for a lake full of ale, right? It's..right down there...just, please don't let anyone know I'm the one who gave it to you...they'd kick me out of the temple if they ever found out about it."
Veit, however, had already run down to the shores of the lake and was shouting joyous exclamations at no one in particular.
"Just' look at it! It's...BEAUTIFUL, isn't it!? Whas' that, Lucille? You s...say you're thirsty? That you want...to go for...a swim? M...my love, I lllllike the way you think!"
With that, he dove into the lake. Xin'Qan took a step back, eyes wide. This guy was clearly off his rocker. Better to get out of here before he noticed her.
