Hmm I've seen quite a bit of Kivan fanart, but I think I like your take on his hairstyle best...

I have to ask. Where can you find these Kivan and Xan mods and how can I install them so I can have more options beyond Anomen?

Anomen's cool, but I don't think my elven female characters should be limited to just him.

Kivan is at Gibberlings3 and Xan is at Pocket Plane Group
And there are tons more mods other than that, yanno.

I know, I've been doing my BG homework. But I think I'd like to stick with mods based on characters that were originally in the series, such as Xan, Kiven, and (especially!) Solaufein. I think I've heard of a Haer'dalis mod, too. I'm a little nervous about downloading anything, since I don't really know what it's going to do to my beloved game. But really, as much as I enjoy the Anomen romance (after he gets knighted, I mean; he does lighten up after he gets his title), I want more options. It doesn't really make much sense for my female elven characters to ONLY have this one human to choose from.

DON'T WORRY. The mods dont mess up the game if you follow the instructions, and theyre easy to uninstall.
As for the Haer'Dalis mod, I'm sorry to say that project died out three years ago and the BG community has been saddened ever since. IMHO, the Xan romance is probably the best romance mod out there. It's well written, totally amazing, and fits seamlessly into the game.
But don't limit yourself to characters that were originally in the series, or else you'll be seriously missing out! There are a lot of amazing characters out there you can add, and not all of them are romanceable, but still!

Oh just in case you didn't know THERE is now a released Haer'Dalis romance mod, and the TOB part of the romance is being worked on now by the wonderful woman who makes dreams of romancing the tiefling (Sp?) bard a reality XD

Here's one question. Do I need BG:TOB in order to run the Xan romance? My father owes me another copy since it got broken (looks like somebody stepped on it) while I was away at college; it's got one very deep crack on one half of it. I know I can't really get the Solaufein, Kiven, and Sarileth mods until I get a replacement, but do I need to do the same for the Xan mod?

Sorry if I'm eating up your time with this.

No, you don't need it, but I highly recommend it, because the ToB portion just completes it. I know a lot of people think the ToB portion of the romance kind of sucks. Oh and whatever you do, play non-bonded path first. Play bonded path second. Or not at all.

Well, I've been converted, dammit. I was amused by the angsty/borderline emo elf before, and now he's on my list of favorite BG characters. Played through the non-bonded path first (and planning a second one so I can see him and Anomen bicker), and am now going through the bonded one (already guessed what's going to happen). Now I REALLY want a new copy of ToB and a copy of BG1, just so I can play the first half of the romance! I think I'll wait on ToB before I get Solaufein and Kiven, though.
